Elizabeth Moore was brought up in Searcy, Arkansas, and she received a B.A. from Vanderbilt University. Most of her adult life has been spent in New York City.

Moore’s art education includes classes at the Art Students League and the Master Institute, as well as private classes.

Her work centers around landscape and seascape. For a number of years, she focused on scenes around City Island and Long Island, as well as other places where she sailed. Recently, her work has been based on material from Scotland and Iceland.

“It is my aim to use space and the natural light of various times and places to order a response to nature.”
